Week wrap-up: 2/9

The hits keep on coming! Not a good week! Here are some things I was reading between stress induced fugues:

Beautiful abstract video I found while researching music videos and synaesthesia - Shel Kahn

Shel collected several examples of bold, brightly-colored animated music videos - including one around 90 years old - that I enjoyed watching. Check them out.

“if truth be told”: cheese, AI and internet economics - Colin

Colin has a good breakdown of the incorrect Google cheese ad thing that circulated around the internet a week or so ago. Apparently it's possible to figure out the history of the incorrect cheese fact that Google had to edit out of the ad - and, wouldn't you know it, the culprit is SEO and the spammy internet economy.

How to translate a game with no words

I enjoyed this Polygon interview about how the game Chants of Sennar was translated. It's a game I played almost entirely in one single long sit-down session. I admit that the entire time I was playing it, it never occurred to me how much the puzzle solutions would have to change for each language the game was translated into.
