Sometimes it's good to just have a link to throw at people
I haven't written about the Kirk killing yet this week because I've been so busy spending time with my family and friends in real life. It has been exhausting trying to spend time with people and NOT discuss the killing.
This article about the press response to the manhunt contains absolutely nothing that I and most of my readers didn't already know, but it's very good to have an article like this in your back pocket to whip out in times like these.
The right appears to be miffed that this past week's events did not result in some sort of anti-trans pogrom. They are scapegoating one of the most marginalized communities in the country. When you are spending time with friends and family who aren't already familiar with transphobic patterns of abuse and harm, sometimes it helps to have a very simple article which summarizes this undeniable fact as clearly and plainly as possible.
