New Orleans bicycle photos

Here's my favorite pictures I took of bicycles in New Orleans.

This bike was parked outside the cathedral several days in a row. It is a PT Cruiser-themed bike with flames all over it?? Whoever owns this bike, come rescue it!! DSCF0081

I saw this bike in several places around town over the last week. Very X-Biking. Stylish. DSCF0229

For some reason the city was absolutely covered in "don't lock your bike here" signs. Some areas had decent bike racks but there were a lot of spots where the city should probably be looking to install more. DSCF0586

This bike was hand-painted with green and black stripes and was absolutely the most fun bike I got good pictures of all week. Beetlejuice-ass bike. Great job, whoever did this. DSCF0410

This is the best bike I got bad pictures of. It's hard to see, but this bike has a frame consisting of a black circle with a pink star inside it. Incredible work, and the guy riding on it is hands down the coolest cyclist we saw all week. DSCF0884

I've posted this one before, but it's insane that they let so much traffic into the French Quarter. This place is perfect for bikes and extremely bad for modern SUVs, crossovers, pickups, etc. Nevertheless, I saw plenty of those, including at night crossing the major party streets. DSCF0539

"What an e-bike is" seems to change every year, and can change depending on who you're talking to, what country you're talking about, or what neighborhood of what city you're visiting. I saw bucket bikes, scooters with precarious seatpoles on them, electric tricycles with massive cargo baskets full of speakers and amps, that whole fleet of step-through public rent-a-bike ebikes, and a couple little apartment-friendly bikes like this one with teeny-tiny tires just big enough to keep you safe on cracked pavement. I thought this bike had a ton of character. My photo isn't so great, but you might be able to see that the rusty top tube under the seat has been completely scoured of any paint by repeated lockups with that heavy chain. Someone really uses the hell out of this bike. DSCF0335

Great city for bike photos. I loved it. Keep it up, New Orleans.
