My favorite peanuts
Do you want to know what the best garlic flavored peanuts are? It's Farmer Brand.
Damn, this guy is so happy to see you! He wants you to enjoy the simple pleasure of garlic-flavored in-shell peanuts. I took a picture of him on the bag we currently have in our household... look what a happy guy he is. To me, this signals that I am about to experience joy. Whenever I am watching a movie at home, there is a high chance that I am also eating Farmer Brand peanuts.
I believe these peanuts are boiled? They're great. We have a family member who provides us with a bag of these peanuts every few weeks or so. Whenever we see them, there is a good chance that they will hand us these garlic peanuts.
As a result of this gift-giving, I have absolutely no idea how much this bag of peanuts costs, but I suspect it is very cheap. The price on the brand's website is less than 2 dollars.
I got curious about them a few days ago, when we received our most recent gift of nuts, so I decided to look the brand up. Unfortunately, there's not a lot about them online in English. I was really hoping for a factory video or something. But the brand is based in Singapore, and the phrase "farmer brand peanuts" is a cursed web search phrase, because it turns up all sorts of peanut-farming videos related to the United States, which has a pretty big peanut industry. The other issue is that searching for information about boiled peanuts in English turns up a lot of videos about southern US boiled peanuts in a variety of styles from different states. It's hard to find factory videos from other countries because there are so many home cooking instructional videos about US southern cooking on this topic.
So I haven't been able to offer you anything interestingly specific about the Farmer Brand peanut process. I can say that the corporate website claims that they have a flat management structure at the peanut factory. This is the first time I have ever wondered whether my food was produced with a flat management structure or not.
I have nothing else to add! I wasn't going to post this because I failed to find a good peanut boiling video set in a factory, but I figured I needed to spread the gospel of Farmer Brand regardless. I have now done my duty.
