I'm going to New Orleans... on da train
This week, I'm headed to New Orleans via Amtrak! I'll try to keep posting every day. I'll certainly have some good pictures to post.
I haven't been to New Orleans since I was very small. I don't believe I saw anything particularly interesting the last time I was there, because it was mostly to visit family. If I did see anything interesting, I've forgotten it!
We love each of our Amtrak vacations for the train component as well as for the destination. I'm excited to spend 45 hours (at the absolute minimum, lmao) crossing the US south via the Sunset Limited service. Crossing the US via train is a phenomenal life experience. If you have the cash and the patience to do something like this, you really ought to. It is a super interesting way to see the country and will teach you a lot about our natural landscapes, infrastructure, and history... sometimes in the ways you expect, but sometimes in ways you could have never imagined. You will meet some True Weirdoes along the way, too... which is one of the best parts, I think.
