I saw the foxes :)
I did successfully visit Catalina... and I saw the island foxes there! Last time I went to Catalina, I failed to see these little critters.
Damn. They look exactly like some kind of Pokemon!
I also saw a bison on the island for the first time. Very glad that I did not see one when we were there on bikes.
We did the "eco tour" on trucks into the center of the island for the first time, and it was fun! It was the exact same route I'd done via bike, but still entertaining, because we had a nice tour guide.
The tour guide's island commentary was supplemented by extremely interesting-to-me comments about the island's economy and what it is like to live here. Sure, he was trying to charm us hardcore, but it's still fascinating. I maintain that a documentary about living here would be absolutely killer and someone should make one asap.
