I finally went to the big donut donut shop (Randy's Donuts)

I mentioned earlier this week that on the 6th, I finally visited the donut shop with the giant donut on the top. I have lived in LA for nearly a decade and never done this before.

The donuts were good!! I had some kind of croissant donut (non-fried, just glazed) called a "crondy." I love how the many makers of croissant-based, non-croissant pastry products struggle to escape the word "cronut". The term is trademarked, so they've gotta come up with something else.

Unfortunately I ate the crondy so fast I did not get a picture of it.

We planned this trip as our second annual 4th of July Tour De Inglewood. Last year we did a route that took us to the stadium complex, the cemetary, the Inglewood pump track, and some places in/near Westchester, like the Square Enix headquarters building and Clutter's Park, where you can do plane-watching south of LAX.

This year my route was much more food-oriented, with stops at the donut shop, a brewery, and a good Somali restaurant we've ordered from before. Unfortunately, we had a pretty bad tire puncture on the bike my husband was riding, and I had a new patch kit with me that seems to have... subpar rubber cement, lol. So we ended up doing only about half of the route. Next year, though!!!

I didn't see much else to take a picture of, but I really liked this strange shop sign:

It was across the street from some big "fuck ICE" graffiti:

I feel kind of crazy for continually pointing this out on this blog, but LA is currently being straight up military-style invaded by an occupying force which is attempting to do ethnic cleansing on the city. It's hard to spend a lot of time out in the city biking around without seeing reminders of it all around you.
