Here is my canned cheese
Here's the canned cheese I talked about buying. It is from the Washington State University creamery, and according to the labels on the cans I got, at least one of my cheese was made by someone named Amber. Thank you, Amber!
And yes, I lied before: I got two cheeses, not one. Both are like... flavored cheeses, not the main Cougar Gold cheddar flavor students make at this creamery. I got sweet basil, and garlic pepper. They are "jack style cheeses," and I gotta admit that buying this cheese made me realize that I didn't actually know what "jack style" cheese even was. I know about Monterey Jack! That one is good! You can get it at the grocery store!!
Turns out that "jack style" is just a reference to a wealthy landowner named Jacks who owned a dairy. here's where I found that info, and here is the Wikipedia page about David Jacks. He has been dead for over one hundred years.
I am excited to eat these cheeses but I need to find a group event at which to eat them! They are extraordinarily heavy. I got nearly four pounds of cheese here now. That requires a lot of help!
