Fresh new bike photographs

Here are some new bike pictures!

  1. This person used a tiny (3D-printed?) mount to affix a single tube of chapstick to their frame. Bravo. Also cool in this photo is the cable housing, which the post claims is a lamp cord cover.

  2. I've posted links to cavallo bikes here in the past, but here's a strange device (a "pony cycle") which uses a similar human riding motion... and actually looks like a horse. Here's the website that sells them.

  3. This dangerous-looking machine/art piece? has a frame made out of wood and a braking system which seems to involve pressing a block of wood against the tire using a hand lever. Zooming in on the tiny card at the bottom of the photo shows that it is called "Das Grillrad," which means "the grill wheel" in german. There's a QR code there as well, but it's cut off, so I can't scan it, and haven't been able to find this particular weird bike online.

  4. Someone made a bike with a metal coffin sidecar for carrying around scary Halloween skeletons.

  5. A wheelchair which ticks a surprisingly large number of the qualities that a "cool adventure bike" "should" have these days - fancy Phil Wood hubs, a lot of purple anodization, and a sick paint job. It's crazy how loudly my brain shouts "BICYCLE" when looking at these pictures, haha.

  6. A very weird-looking bike with a built-in rear fender. There's a lot of good reasons why this kind of thing is not popular - that bike is aluminum and when you bend aluminum, you can't easily bend it back without cracking or snapping it, so long skinny unsupported frame elements like that are a bad idea. But it does look cool!

  7. This poster had the temerity to put Hatsune Miku on the inside of their crank arm, then go on the fixed gear subreddit to ask if it is "too tacky." If you are asking this then you are not brave or strong enough to have Miku on your bike IMO.

  8. This video, apparently taken at Venice Beach, involves a tiny child-sized bike which has had its frame turned into a rideable, functional electric guitar.

  9. You can technically turn a kids' bike with 16-20 inch wheels into a minivelo if you can find a long enough seatpost!

  10. This very strange build from Estonia is sick as hell. You can actually buy one of these; the site is here.

  11. I wish we had better pictures of this person's build, which seems to be a functional pedal bike with ALSO a functional handcycle setup (for the front wheel only) in place of the handlebars. So I guess you can pedal simultaneously with both your hands and your feet?!

  12. This person building their own bike frames has replaced the bottom of their latest project's downtube with a single curved piece of metal, rather than a tube. This is both cool and scary looking, to me!!

  13. This post led me to something even better - a video of the creator's original prototype doing tricks while an extremely coolguy song about the bike plays in the background.
