Enjoy my favorite bike youtuber
I'm at GDC this week so I'm a bit to busy to blog with any intentionality.
Here's just another youtube link - this time to my favorite bike youtuber, Gary's Projects. Gary is an Australian man who fixes bikes on his tiny balcony. As someone who now builds bikes inside my two-room apartment, I find this content Highly Relatable.
Here's a good video. It's highly typical of his style. He films the bike extremely close up, names all its parts and talks about whether he likes them or not, and then disassembles the bike by balancing it on a bunch of buckets and shit. He does not have a bike shop - he has an incredibly crowded balcony. Like all bike videos, it also becomes a kind of "satisfying cleaning" video as he polishes the bike up.
I've genuinely learned a lot from watching this guy. Video is not the best way to learn about how to fix your bike - the best way is to go to a co-op and find one of the grease-covered people who tend to volunteer there to help you out - but video is pretty dang good!
