Damn, I'm tired!!
Skin Deep has been out for almost two weeks now. Let me tell you what that was like for me...
Running up to the game launch, I had a month or so of an aggressively off and on respiratory illness. I was sick in early late March and early April. Then I got better for a week and a half, while Brendon became incredibly ill instead. I was able to hit up the Bernie rally, where I blew out my injured voice. After that, Brendon got better, while I eventually got sick again - and stayed ill for several weeks.
On Skin Deep launch day, I woke up at 6 AM to be there for the "button press," hung around posting about the game all morning, then went to urgent care in the afternoon. I had gotten to the point where my symptoms had all cleared up except for a cough, which was actually getting worse, somehow. They diagnosed me with a secondary bacterial infection of some kind and sent me home that evening with a fuck ton of prescriptions.
During the first week since the game launched, I've been getting better! I was well enough to go to a robot battling event the first weekend after the game came out (I'll post about that, it was very cool) but I'm still getting winded if I do anything outside the house two days in a row, haha.
I'm so excited to finally take a vacation after all of this! We are taking an Amtrak-centric vacation next month... and boy, do I love making games on trains. Here's hoping I've finally quit coughing by that point!!
