Congrats to Mayor Mamdani
I got back to LA from Arizona early, so that I can be sick at home. I spent a lot of today sitting as still as possible with soup for brains, reading the news because there was nothing else to do. So I read a lot of Mamdani news... because I feel shitty, and it makes me happy to read about him pissing people off. Reading a news story that involves anyone melting down with incoherent, unreasonable complaints about Mamdani (or his wife) is about as soothing to me as a dose of Tylenol right now.
The one takeaway that my flu-addled brain was able to grasp was that "For too long, those fluent in the good grammar of civility have deployed decorum to mask agendas of cruelty" is an insanely good line, and that this guy has the best speechwriters alive.
Great job, New York! Everyone's jealous of you!
