Check out "Weird Web October"
In the spirit of inktober and the small web, some attendees of 2024's XOXO Fest decided to put together Weird Web October, a challenge to make a website every single fucking day in October. Incredible. I love it.
I have been known to make a weird website for no reason... back when I lived in the bay area, a friend of mine and I made basketballs in traffic cones dot com, the world's premier source for photos of that particular subject. We had a really complicated but extremely practical reason for creating it, I swear, and did successfully change the google image search results for "basketball in traffic cone."
I own a lot of extremely cheap domains I am not doing much with (it is a bad idea to get drunk at a party while you are logged into your registrar on your phone) so I could do something weird with those for October. No way am I making a website every single day... but I could try!
