Please check out The Incident at Galley House

Type Help is one of my favorite narrative deduction games - I've written about it here before - and I'm delighted that there's now a commercial version of the game available. Type Help is great as an all-text experience, and it's lovely that it's completely free. But it's also so impressive and so satisfying to play that I was kind of bummed, honestly, that its creator William Rous wasn't getting any money from it. It took me four hours! That's a complete game!

Well, now you can pay money for that experience. The Incident at Galley House reimagines the game by adding art, voice acting, and a GUI version of the machine you're using to navigate the mystery in the original game.

I haven't played Galley House yet, but I will definitely buy it and try it out. I found the original game so wonderful that I am eager to shill the new version to you sight-unseen. I think Type Help is really fantastic as a text experience, so I'm super curious about the impact art and audio will have on the story. The game was adapted by Evil Trout Inc, which made The Roottrees Are Dead, another one of my favorite narrative deduction games. Roottrees uses art very effectively, so I'm excited to see how they handled it in this one.

Anyway!! Check it out!! Do not read about the story or look up any spoilers. It's a spoilable game for sure!
