I made pickles with a crap ton of chili oil
You know it's thin blogging when I'm blogging about pickles, but genuinely: I recommend putting a crap ton of chili oil in a jar and using it to make quick pickles. It's very good. Here is a pretty unflattering image of pickles - I am not good at photographing this stuff - but I assure you that they were extremely delicious and I ate all of them pretty much instantly.

I was way more into pickle making in 2020 and 2021, but I got back into it recently after a new grocery store opened up in my area and started stocking extremely cheap Persian cucumbers pretty much all the time. They're good!! They are a top tier snack! I think I'm gonna be making the chili oil ones routinely. I have no real recipe here besides "make quick pickles and just jam a fuck ton of chili crisp in there." It's good. You do end up with a ton of bright red oil floating on top, so they're super messy... but it's worth it!
Looking closely, you might notice that this image above depicts a desperate dinner I made which was fifty percent pickle and fifty percent toaster waffle. If you're very tired, this is a perfectly fine dinner. It refreshed me. It did not make me feel particularly refined but it satisfied my nutritional needs and the pickle half of it tasted absolutely amazing.
