Nic Tringali, whose blog I've linked to many times here in the past, just released a new videogame!!
Amberspire is a very tense, quite difficult citybuilder where resources are generated by dice rolls. Each building can roll its own die to generate a bunch of unusual stuff that other buildings then consume. But each die has a chance of triggering negative things, too... most crucially "weather dice," which can damage your city at the end of each round. The game requires you to make very judicious decisions about which buildings to generate resources with, where to build, and what to give up on as you go.
I feel very bad at this game, so far! But I still feel like I'm getting better at it, and I still feel like I'm learning something. I've played about ten hours of it!
